I've been going here for years... Always consistently excellent ! Always a pleasure :-)

Amazin food, nice comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff. Nice beer on draft entertainment complex over the road need I say more

The atmosphere, polite and friendly staff certainly make up for the drab decor in my opinion as you go for a great meal with great people so dont notice these thing and as the food is twice the price and not as good elsewhere.! Been going on a regular basis for a few years and will continue to do so..well done Sheesh mahal....

We always visit Sheesh Mahal before going to the cinema. It's a great little Indian restaurant with upstairs and downstairs seating. The food is suprisingly authentic and presented excellently. The service is also notably good, with the waiting staff always happy to assist in any way possible. Good prices, good service and good food. Definitely a place you should check out if you're in the area or visiting the retail park opposite.

When my friends suggested we should go out for dinner at Sheesh Mahal my gut reaction was "nooooo have you seen that place". Situated on the corner of one of the busiest and grottiest roads in Leeds I had always thought "what a horrible place to have a restaurant" when driving past. Not only that, the outside of the shop displays some really tacky window designs which are very uninviting. My friends assured me I would enjoy myself so I went with the flow. Oh my gosh am I glad I went. Not only did I come back with more change than I usually do from a slap up Indian meal, but it was so good on the taste buds that I told everyone about it. I ordered a chicken mushroom bhuna for only six quid odd which was so divine with rice and nahn bread. Oooh this is making me hungry just writing. Don't let Sheesh Mahal's location and decor put you off. Close you eyes and enjoy your curry. Honestly one of the best I have ever tasted! If you are a lover of fine dining is plush locations this is definitely not your place. But if you idea of eat out if tasting some unbeatable cuisine, Seesh is your place!

Despite its rather unassuming exterior and undesirable location right on a busy road, Sheesh Mahal is without a doubt one of the best Indian's in Leeds. Straddling the gap between upmarket restaurant and simple curry house, Sheesh Mahal has all the comfort and service of a fancy restaurant with none of the pretensions, and the food is of a comparable quality to restaurants that where you'd happily pay twice the price. I have visited here on a number of occasions, and over time tried pretty much every vegetarian option on the menu, and each time have found the food, service and atmosphere faultless. A few people I know have complained to me that the décor is a bit dated, and it certainly won't win any prizes for interior design, but if you're capable of ignoring a bit of peeling wallpaper you'll be rewarded with one of the best - and best value - Indian restaurants in town.

One of the best, and arguably the most popular, Indian restaurants in Leeds, Sheesh Mahal has been turning out spot on Asian cuisine for years. It sits on the busy Kirkstall Road opposite the Cardigan Fields complex, and is usually almost full, especially on weekend evenings (best to book if this is your preferred time of visit). Its popularity is due to the fact that it presents hugely tasty traditional Indian and Pakistani cuisine in unpretentious surroundings (true, it could do with a bit of a refurb but it works for me). The meals are very reasonably priced to say that it is clearly cooked by highly talented and experienced Indian chefs, and service is very fast and as polite as it should be. I decided to bite the bullet and went for a chicken madras, which is more spice that I can usually handle, but it went down a treat, especially when washed down with the bottled Indian beer. The naan breads were glorious too. This place really is a cut above most of the rest. I'm a big fan.
